While I was surfing web I came across a problem related to web templates.

The problem statement was something like:

Problem:
While trying to Edit Web Template of an Applet user was getting page cannot be displayed error which is an IE error.

Some other problem statements related to web templates are:

When trying edit web template user gets an error which is something like

“Unable to open file CCViewDetail_ParentPntr\CCAppletList_B_EL.swt and user is not able to edit web template.”


Solution:

There can be several reasons for this kind of error. Verify the below given points and hopefully your problem will be solved.

  • Open Siebel tools and Go to > View Menu > Options > Web Template Editor Tab as shown below. Verify that path given is correct and points to your tools\WEBTEMPL folder.
    Note: By default it is empty and path is picked from CFG file
  • Make sure the in both Web Client CFG and Tools CFG “WebClientSiteDir” parameter points to correct path.
  • If you are still getting Web Template not found error then try to copy the contents of WEBTEMPL folder from somebody who is not getting this error and replace it with your WEBTEMPL folder contents.
