This is a problem that I faced while working in Siebel 7.8 Product Configurator.

Problem:

You click on customize to open the product configurator screen. Customize the product and click on save and exit. Siebel Application hangs on doing this and you have kill the instance and open a new instance.

Reason:
This has been identified as an Internet explorer settings bug.

Solution:

  • Open Internet Explorer Window
  • Click Tools menu > Internet Options
  • Click on Settings
  • A new window will open change the setting called “Check for new versions of stored pages” to ‘Automatically’ as shown in the picture below.
