This article has been contributed by Diwakar. He is Presenting nice to know information about finding Siebel Configuration file through various methods.
Each application in Siebel has a corresponding configuration file related to it. If we are using a Siebel call center application, the corresponding configuration file which is being used is uagent.cfg.
Similarly if there are any other Siebel application used, the user could determine which is the configuration (CFG) file with respect to the application being used in many methods.
The below screen shots are provided for finding the configuration file for Siebel Field Service application.
Navigate to Administration-Server Configuration>>Servers screen. If it’s an enterprise server then select the corresponding Siebel server. Query for the AOM (application object manager) component in the below applet. Move to the Parameters tab and query for the parameter “OM – Configuration File” which will display the configuration file name of the AOM.
Login to the remote machine where the Siebel server is installed. Navigate to the path /siebsrvr/bin/enu. Open the omdefs.run (Object manager definitions) file. Verify the ‘FixedParam: Config file’ value defined in the application object manager section. It would provide the configuration file name of the application which is being used.
Connect to the Siebel server manager. If there are multiple Siebel servers running on the enterprise server then connect to your Siebel server with the login credentials. Run the command “list param ConfigFile for comp SFSObjMgr_enu” from srvrmgr.
Thus any user can find out the respective configuration file for any known or unknown Siebel application.
