Loading ...I wrote my first post on ABS Framework on Dec 18, 2008 since then it has been viewed almost 1000 times (I am sure its more as I started tracking post views a lot later) and has generated lot of interest. When it started there was lot of confusion and doubt on existence of ABS Framework even people from oracle commented and expressed their ignorance about its existence.
Paolo had give us just an overview of what ABS Framework was capable of but nothing that could tell us how it had been done. What he had written, made us (at least me 
) realize the importance, advantages of framework in Siebel. Paolo promised us more but couldn’t provide it.
Few days back Mike took us few steps further by telling us how to attach custom functions to extend Siebel Objects and then Jason put us on the right path telling exactly what to do. He warned us of the limitations of what he has suggested and promised us to tell a better way to do it
Recent post on Jason’s blog tells us that he accidentally bumped into the creator of ABS Framework and they discussed about it’s Architecture, potential flaws (in Siebel 8.0) and need for this framework. Jason has promised more in future and I am waiting eagerly to find out what he has to tell.

Final words, it is proprietary framework, forget about using it. If you really need to use frameworks like this one, you have failed to use siebel non-scripting solutions. If you use scripting as the last option, pros from using that framework will be minimal, but unsupportable by oracle. Siebel is not about scripting, no need for frameworks!

I partly agree to what you say, “First aim should be use non-scripting solutions”
but in reality on a project not everybody who works is much experienced or resourceful, there are freshers working on itwho are starting their carrier. They just know how to do things, how to do them efficiently is not thier priority because of many reasons such as not enough knowledge, deadlines etc.
So, they tend do more scripting. This framework can help them to do scripting in proper way which in turn can increase application life, performance.
We can include all the siebel escripting best practices in framework so that they don’t have to worry about it.
Till the time siebel provides for scripting option to developer I think there is need for some framework that can help us to reduce the mistakes that we make!!!
